Happy new year everybody. I should have created this post probably on the 13th December 2015 the day after snagging Best Dressed Male Media Personality at the Abryanz Style & Fashion Awards but I guess I needed the time to calm my nerves and come to terms with what this accolade means for my journey.
The awards that seek to create a platform for both recognition, and acknowledgment of the game changers in the fashion industry for their continued efforts in steering the industry forward are known for pomp, glamour and are arguably Kampala’s biggest fashion event. The 2015 edition was no exception.
If I could, I would keep my recount less sketchy. I guess I shall be pardoned for not having prepared an acceptance speech. Lord, I must have been quite the sight sauntering onto the stage in nervous disbelief. Naturally, I was compelled to work up a much more sane (lol) acceptance message the next day. Here goes;
As far as I can remember, my upbringing was quite meticulous. As a child, my mum always made it a point to inspect everything about me before I left for school; which I felt was painstaking. Little did I know that this helped mold me into the neat and spruced up individual I am today.
With this accolade (best dressed male media personality), I celebrate my dear mother, I celebrate The NTV Style Project and my home NTV Uganda, I celebrate my mentor Sylvia Owori, I celebrate the Abryanz Style & Fashion Awards and I celebrate my friends, well wishers and fans whose support has been a profound force behind where I am today.
May the almighty abundantly reward you all!
